We are proud that educational excellence is available at all levels in our community. Three area school districts offer both traditional and non-traditional public education options at the primary and secondary levels including three foreign language immersion schools and two international high schools.

Private schools include numerous elementary schools and high schools, including various denominational and special education centers for all students--gifted, as well as physically and mentally challenged. Find out more about local private schools.

The University of Oregon with a student population of over 21,000, is a world-class teaching and research university. The UO offers a broad spectrum of opportunities for learning in the liberal arts and professional programs in architecture, arts, business, education, journalism, law, and music and dance. In the classrooms and laboratories, students are inspired by a faculty of prominent scholars and work side by side with eminent researchers involved in breakthrough discoveries. The UO is a member of the Association of American Universities, one of only two such universities in the greater Northwest.

Lane Community College (LCC), a public, two-year institution, enrolls nearly 40,000 students each academic year. LCC offers excellent preparation for four-year colleges and, since 1985, has been continually ranked among the top five community colleges in the nation. LCC offers also offers comprehensive job training, retraining and skill updates. Other instructional programs include professional technical degree and certificate programs, high school diploma and GED programs, continuing education noncredit courses and transfer credit program.

Northwest Christian University (NCU) is an accredited school offering four-year bachelor’s degrees. The most popular areas of study include: Teacher Education (K-12); Business Administration; Psychology; Exercise Science and Music Industry. NCU has been ranked among the top comprehensive colleges in the West by U.S. News and World Report.

Eugene Bible College offers bachelor’s degrees in Christian Counseling, Pastoral Studies, Biblical Studies, Worship Arts, Christian Education and Youth Ministries, among others. The school was founded in 1925 and graduates serve in a variety of ministry capacities throughout the world.

Other higher education institutions include Pioneer Pacific College, a highly focused private career college offering diploma, associate's, and bachelor's degree programs that include Business, Criminal Justice, Healthcare, Information Technology, Legal and Culinary Arts.

Linfield College has a center for adult degree completion programs. Students attend classes at Lane Community College.
